Alice Nicholson – Founding Director.
Alice holds a BA hons in Drama from Hull University and an MA in Classical Acting from Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. Prior to her undergraduate degree, Alice trained as a dancer for sixteen years. Professionally Alice worked as an actress and dancer in theatre and TV but spent the majority of her professional career in choreography and movement direction for Film and TV, coaching some of the world’s leading actors. Credits include; the Other Boleyn Girl (Sony Films), Inkheart (Newline films), Sense and Sensibility (BBC), Little Dorrit (BBC), Lost in Austen (ITV). Alongside her professional work, Alice has taught for over twelve years including stints at top London schools such as Italia Conti, RCSSD, and ALRA, regular teaching at regional Stage Schools including many of the big franchises as well as outreach work for the likes of English Touring Theatre and regular teaching throughout the state and independent school sector. Alice founded Shine On Stage with a clear vision and ethos. The company is dedicated to providing the very best tuition in a friendly, nurturing environment where every youngster can fourish.

Alice Davies – Drama Teacher
Alice graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2020 with a BA Honours Degree in Drama and English. During her time at university she had the opportunity to work with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the award winning Birmingham REP theatre.
Her background is in both drama and dance, having completed British Ballet Organisation examinations from the age of six. She went on to represent her university in their Dance Squad, becoming National Champions 2018/19.
Alice has years of experience working with young people in a variety of environments, and is excited to be coming to join the Shine team.

Lucy Ryan – Stage School Principal – Singing/LAMDA teacher
Lucy is a multi-skilled teacher, who has been in the performing arts & musical theatre industry for a number of years. Lucy has performed in many shows in London’s West End as well as UK tours including; Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat, and Scrooge. Her TV credits include; Casualty, Teachers and a number of documentaries and independent films. Teaching is a huge part of Lucy’s life and she always ensures that each student leaves her class with energy and excitement.

Lucia Steele – Dance Teacher
Lucia is a professional Hip Hop and Commercial Dancer who has been dancing for 16 years and teaching for 11 years. Lucia’s training began conventionally as she attended weekly dance lessons in Cheltenham but her passion meant that she went on to attend regular Hip Hop /Street Dance workshops hosted all around the country by incredible professional dancers.
Lucia took her first audition at Pineapple Studios in London and was signed by dance agency “Riven” who worked alongside Pixie Lott.
Through performances, shows and competitions Lucia started being offered teaching roles at dance schools and taught for Variations Academy, Sway Dance, Passion Academy and Strawberry Hill. Lucia became a member of LSdancerz and performed for London Lions and performed at many other professional events.
Whilst teaching, Lucia continued her training with the champions of Hip Hop and Breaking, so she could maintain her training and progression and build on her skillset. Lucia has won many competitions and danced with many incredible dancers. Lucia says: “I have been on a magical journey in dance, and I love to share my knowledge and experiences here with you all in this community.”

Jaye Marshall:
Jaye is a professional performer and is the original Dance Captain on the hit musical; “& Juliet” at the Shaftesbury Theatre London and is just about to go and work on the revival of “Sylvia” in the West End.
Jaye’s theatre credits include: “Dick Whittington” at the National Theatre, “Sylvia” at The Old Vic, & “I Can’t Sing!” at the London Palladium. She also has an extensive Film and TV Background in dance appearing in: “Everybody’s talking about Jamie” Warp Films/20th Century Fox, “the National Television Awards” at The O2, London, “the Royal Variety Show”, London Palladium, “Alan Carr Chatty Man”, ITV Studios, London, “The One Show”, BBC Studios, London, “The Olympic Opening Ceremony”, Olympic Stadium, London, “Channel 4, “Street Summer One Man Walking”, “A Fairytale in Prague” Cesky Krumlov, Prague, & “Boy Blue Entertainment” Various UK/Ireland Venues (Barbican, London.)

Rosie Mason:
After gaining a first class BA Honours Degree in Drama and Theatre Arts at Birmingham University, Rosie went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma from the prestigious East 15 School of Acting. Rosie is an Actor, Director and Teacher. Rosie has acted professionally in some of the most popular and well regarded South West Theatres such as The Cheltenham Everyman and The Tobacco Factory in Bristol playing parts in Shakespearean plays as well as new original plays. Rosie delivered a clowning workshop for our young perfromers.

Alan Mandel:
Alan has been teaching with Shine On Stage since 2010. He was a much loved regular teacher at our Stage School until his professional career led him to Hollywood. He now comes back and teaches when he can and continues to be an important part of Shine On Stage! He has taught both singing and drama for many years and been involved in many theatre and film projects both as an actor and director. He has appeared in a number of productions ranging from major Hollywood motion pictures (including Pride, War Horse, Captain America & a brand new very secret one he can’t wait to tell you about!), short films (including Eddie, Run Run As Fast As You Can, A Bond of Blood, Best Man) and TV projects (including Born Equal alongside Colin Firth and performing the Haka in the Rugby World Cup Opening Ident), As a director Alan has directed numerous short films and plays. Most notably the critically acclaimed sell out Off West-End debut of a Frankenstein: The Metal Opera. His theatre credits include: After a Storm (Exeter Northcott Theatre) and In The Space Between (Camden People’s Theatre). Film credits include: Valentine (Electric Swing Circus), The Underwater Realm (Realm Pictures), Artisans of Memory (Multi-Sense Media) and On Ice (Wet Rat Films), which won Best Director & Best Film at the 2 Days Later International Film Festival.

Katy Hanna:
Katy Hanna is a seasoned West End performer having spent many years in Les Miserables, Phantom of The Opera and now Wicked. She has also been resident Dance Captain and Children’s Director on Les Miserables. Katy is a sought after singing teacher, teaching regularly at Redroofs Theatre School, one of the UK’s most prestigious full time/residential theatre schools. She also sits on audition panels regularly. Katy delivered a fantastic Masterclass at Shine On Stage in Autumn 2016 and will return as soon as her schedule allows.

Heather Scott Martin:
Heather who was recently in the West End and UK tour of ANNIE worked with our participants on Summer School 2017. Heather trained at the BRIT school and Bird College. She has been in ANNIE, MAMMA MIA, GREASE, 42nd STREET as well as numerous other shows. We look forward to welcoming Heather back to run workshops with us again when she can! She is currently in Toronto with ANNIE!

Katrina Dix:
KATRINA was Dance Captain on CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY at Theatre Royal Drury Lane before which she was in Ghost the musical and Carousel. She has recently completed a world tour of The Producers. Katrina delivered masterclasses at our Summer School in 2017. We hope to host Katrina again at some point soon!

Ian Gareth Jones:
Ian is a hugely experienced musical theatre performer, constantly hopping from one role to another both in the West End and on UK Tour. If you saw Mamma Mia when it came to Bristol Hippodrome, then you saw Ian in action! Ian has been in; Mamma Mia, Footloose, Chicago, Billy Elliot, Scrooge, Guys and Dolls, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers to name but a few. He is Resident Director on the upcoming new Bon Jovi musical, Knights of The Rose. Ian is teaching at West End Summer School 2018.

Jacqueline Hughes:
Jacqueline trained at The Guildford School of Acting, receiving First class BA (hons) and the Musical Theatre award 2007.
