STROUD STAGE SCHOOL
Now in it’s 12th successful year, our independent Stage School is run by industry professionals with credits in Film, TV, West End and Regional Theatre. We offer exceptional tuition in; Drama, Dance and Singing, as well as regular VIP masterclasses with performers and directors from West End shows. We also offer internationally recognised and renowned LAMDA Drama exams and currently hold a 100% pass rate with Merits and Distinctions across the board since we introduced the exams in 2015, with marks as high as 96%.
We also take our pupils and families on an annual theatre trip with exclusive meet and greets with performers and creatives on the given show. Our pupils have landed roles on TV, auditioned for West End shows and gained places on prestigious national training programs. We create a friendly, nurturing environment which celebrates every pupil as an individual.

Times: Sparkles (4-6 yrs): 9.00-10.00/ Main School (7 – 18 yrs): 10.00-13.00/ LAMDA Lessons: 09.00 – 10.00 or 13.00 -14.00/14.30 (depending on grade)
Our stage school year is split into three terms. During the Winter and first half of the Spring term we work on technical skills and present a demonstration to parents at the end of the winter term. During the Spring and Summer term we work towards a full scale show. As well as all of this you can expect VIP masterclasses, theatre trips, and fantastic performance opportunities.
Recent projects for Main School have included; acting for screen where the children filmed their own scenes and TV adverts, mask and mime, improvisation, street dance, classic musical theatre dance, “Stomp” inspired choreography, prop based choreography, pop singing, musical theatre singing, group and solo singing, vocal recording.
Recent projects for Sparkles have included; storytelling, mime, prop based improvisation, musical theatre singing both choral and solo, jazz and modern dance, group/self choreography. Our Sparkles classes are an exciting, creative way to spend 60 minutes every Saturday morning in a friendly small group.
LAMDA Drama exams: We are thrilled to be offering LAMDA drama examination tuition for all youngsters in group 3 (seniors) and as an optional extra to all pupils in both Sparkles and Main School. We hold a 100% PASS RATE with Merits and Distinctions across the board since 2015 with exceptionally high marks. Our seniors working at medal level acquire UCAS points to take forwards onto their next step post 18yrs.

Once you have completed your booking with us by downloading, completing and returning your application form, we will confirm your youngster’s place.
Uniform is not compulsory for the two weeks. After this point your child should have a Shine on Stage t-shirt/ vest, and hooded sweatshirt. We do not supply trousers. Any black tracksuit bottoms, leggings, jazz pants are acceptable. Jazz shoes are compulsory after a pupil’s first two weeks and are available from any dance wear specialist or online. Teens may wear Jazz Sneakers. We have a link with Colour Dancewear in Nailsworth, who regularly come in and fit shoes at Stage School. You may also contact them directly.
As much as possible we encourage you to minimise the number of Stage School sessions your child misses. We understand life gets in the way periodically but the disruption caused by absences is felt not only by your youngster but also by the class as a whole. We appreciate your understanding in this.
SPRING TERM 2023- Our term in 12 weeks long.
Main School: £288.00 per child per term (10% discount for addition siblings)
Sparkles: £114.00 per child per term (10% discount for addition siblings)

*All fees can be split over three instalments per term.

- Fees are payable in full at time of booking.
- You have a two week grace period. If after two weeks your child does not want to continue, we will refund you the fees for the remaining weeks of term.
- Once the first two weeks have passed we will not refund any fees.
- We will give you a bill at the end of each term for the following term’s fees.
- If your child does not want to continue, you need to let us know in writing by the final week of term. After which point you will be liable to pay part or all of the following term’s fees, in line with our terms and conditions.
SUMMER SCHOOL 2023
16th Annual Summer Schools: 31st July – 4th August 2023
We are thrilled to announce that booking for our 16th annual summer is OPEN! Once again we will be working towards a show which will be performed at the end of the week in a professional theatre to friends and family.
As always you can expect a week jam packed with performing arts fun! The week will comprise of drama, dance and singing tuition delivered by our brilliant tutors and a VIP West End tutor. The week is always so joyful as the participants immerse themselves in the performing arts.
Now in our 16th year, and selling out each and every single year, don’t miss out on has been called “the best week of the summer holidays”!
West End Summer School 2023 (Ages 7-18yrs):
Expect an inspiring week taught by expert teachers and guest VIP tutors from the WEST END, TV, and FILM! The week is spent honing skills in Drama, Dance and Singing, rehearsing an original show with hit numbers from some of the biggest shows in the West End and Broadway. The week culminates with a full scale show in a professional theatre.
Sparkles Summer School 2023 (Ages 4-7yrs):
Our Sparkles participants join us for five fun-filled half days full of excitement and creativity. The week is spent singing, dancing, acting and even making their own costumes. The week culminates in a charming little show performed on stage.
My children love Shine On Stage! They attend every week and during the holidays too. Their confidence has grown and the tutors are great fun and wonderfully professional. We recommend it to everyone!

Shine on stage is just fab, working on motivating and empowering the children to shine their best…highly recommended.
The teachers have experience of working in the ‘business’ and really encourage and nurture the children allowing them to have fun and take performing as far as they want to; my son has gained Distinctions in the LAMDA exams (all of the children who take them at the school do very well) with fantastic tutoring, had the chance to audition for Matilda and Billy Elliot as well as a BBC production and with support from Alice, the Principal, gained a place in the 2016 Company of The National Youth Theatre. The children also benefit from tutors who are appearing in the West End.
Issie’s time at Shine was the best. She had practically no confidence when she started but Alice and the other teachers brought her out of her shell. The staff are all committed to the children and getting the best from them. It’s not about being the best individual singer, dancer or actor but about working together as a team. If you’re looking for somewhere to send your child where they’ll feel safe & appreciated then Shine on Stage is perfect.
Our daughter Rhianne went to Shine for several years and she absolutely loved it, the support she got Alice and the team was second to none and thanks to them she got a LAMDA distinction in Bronze and Silver, sadly ran out of time to do the Gold. I could go on for pages and pages of praise for Shine but will keep it short and sweet – it’s brilliant, your children will love it and they will learn so much. Thanks you Alice and your brilliant team
Absolutely wonderful place! Went to Saturday stage school as well as Easter and Summer workshops and my confidence flew through the roof! With amazing vocal, drama and dance teachers my skills, and those of my peers, flourished and I could not recommend Shine on Stage any higher! Such a brilliant example of a stage school with a proper community and family.

Please put your name down at the beginning of the week if you wish to request additional seats. Any spare seats are then allocated by Wednesday of summer school. We request that you inform us if you do not wish to use both your allocated seats so we can redistribute.
