Shine On Stage’s Principal and teachers were bursting with pride to discover that for the sixth year running they held onto their 100% LAMDA Drama Exam pass rate with all pupils receiving the top gradings of Merit and Distinction, with marks as high as 95%! The pupils aged 10 -18yrs presented monologues, and groups scenes, both contemporary and classical with extracts from West End hits such as Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time to Shakespearean verse from Twelfth Night. The material was varied, challenging and hugely enjoyable to watch. Two examiners from the Internationally renowned London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art rewarded the hard work and preparation richly with high marks, praise and UCAS points for University for some of the highest grades. Pricipal Alice Nicholson remarked “The dedication, creativity, perseverance, and confidence shown by our pupils makes my heart sing. Exploring character and situation through Drama encourages such interesting discussion and new found perspectives. Such an invaluable experience for young people, especially today when demands on them are high and the world seems such a volatile place. To be able to facilitate such growth of character and skill is a huge privilege.”
